The main types of silicone used to make tire molds are as follows:
Methyl vinyl silicone rubber: This silicone rubber is one of the commonly used materials for making tire molds. It has excellent resilience and wear resistance, and is suitable for making high-precision molds.
Room temperature two-component vulcanized liquid silicone: This silicone consists of component A silicone and component B curing agent, and is suitable for tire mold turning and aluminum film mold manufacturing. It has the characteristic of not being easily deformed and is suitable for mold making of precision products.
Condensation type silicone and addition type silicone: Both types of silicone are two-component room temperature vulcanized silicone rubber. The ratio of silicone to curing agent for condensation type silicone is generally 100:5, while the ratio for addition type silicone is 1:1. They are widely used in tire mold manufacturing.
